Nutella Chocolate Fudge Brownies
Have you EVER met a chocolate brownie you did not adore?
Have you ever encountered a scoop of Nutella chocolate spread you did not devour?
I didn’t think so.
And fudge – it’s rich, it can be a lot, but in small amounts, you can’t deny it’s lure.
In any case, you’ll crave these babies – Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread + fudge, baked into a decadent chocolate, chewy brownie.
Nutella Chocolate Fudge Brownies
1 1/2 stick butter, melted and cooled (12 Tbs.)
8 oz. high quality semi-sweet chocolate
1 1/4 cups white sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup dark, unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. sea salt
1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (Nutella)
Preheat oven to 350. Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
Chop the chocolate into chunks. Melt half of the chocolate over super-low heat (or in the microwave in 20-second intervals) until smooth, saving the other half for later.
In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar with a stand mixer or electric mixer.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla for 1-2 minutes, until the mixture becomes fluffy and light in color.
Whisk in the melted chocolate (make sure it’s not too hot or else the eggs will cook).
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold to incorporate the dry ingredients, being careful not to overmix as this will cause the brownies to be more cake-like in texture.
Fold in the chocolate chunks and Nutella spread, until uniform.
Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 30-45 minutes, depending on how fudgy you like your brownies, then cool completely. (They can be pretty moist and chewy – if TOO moist, slice and “dry” on the counter in fresh air for several hours or overnight).
Slice, then serve with a nice cold glass of milk!
