Super Soft Dinner Rolls

Inspired by Rike, my favorite friend – furthest from my home, closest to my heart.
We’ve never met, but we are truly soul sisters, connected in every way – almost every day!

I watched her post photos of her homemade dinner rolls and decided I really needed to get on the bandwagon myself.

I’m GREAT at baking bread, but Super Soft Dinner Rolls have not been in my repertoire, until now.
And, this little creation is now a favorite.

Without any research, measurements, or rules, I threw this together for an afternoon of entertaining and I’m super proud.

They were a HIT, for sure!

Super Soft Dinner Rolls

1 cup warm water
2 1/4 tsp. dry active yeast
3 Tbs. granulated sugar
4 Tbs. butter, softened
1 large egg
pinch sea salt
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Combine the warm water with the yeast for 10-15 minutes, allowing the yeast to “bloom,” and bubble.

In a large stand mixing bowl, add the bloomed yeast and water, sugar, softened butter, egg, and sea salt.

Mix well.

Using either the paddle attachment or dough hook (I do not have this attachment, and the paddle worked fine for me) – mix the flour in, 1/2 cup at a time, until well combined.

Loosely cover, set aside, and allow the dough to rise for 2-4 hours.

With floured hands, beat down and knead. Then, divide the dough and form into 12 smallish-medium-sized rolls, placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet, about 2″ apart.

Cover loosely with a towel and let rise, again for 60-90 minutes in a warm environment. The dough will rise again.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Once the oven is super-hot, heated for at least 45 minutes, move the risen roll doughs to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

Serve hot (or warmish).

YUM! ðŸ¤¤

These rolls “go” with anything and everything can be eaten on their own, or filled with BUTTER or your favorite sandwich mixings.
